A French deeptech company developing passive detection technologies for drones, for critical infrastructure protection and defence and security applications.
Based in Aubagne, near Marseille in southern France, EKHO Technologies designs and develops passive acoustic drone detection technology in France. The company builds on deeptech foundations: signal processing, classification algorithms and embedded engineering, rather than assembling existing off-the-shelf components.
EKHO is designed in France, with no dependency on a foreign cloud for the detection function. The sensors, the local processing unit (the EKHO Core) and the supervision console all run on the customer's own network, which makes data control and regulatory compliance easier on sensitive sites.
The drone threat is advancing faster than the means to counter it, particularly for Seveso-classified sites, port infrastructure and sensitive industrial sites. EKHO positions itself as a complementary technology layer for European defence and security, alongside existing RF, radar and optronic systems rather than replacing them.
EKHO is currently a functional prototype, validated in a representative environment, with field validation campaigns underway and expanding across partner sites in France. The company does not present this prototype as a certified industrial system or as a product already deployed commercially: it is a deliberate step toward that industrialisation.
EKHO Technologies is building a small team around signal processing, embedded engineering and business development, and is talking with industrial sites interested in becoming partner sites for its field validation campaigns.
